The great freedom - The new bintec access points for professional business use

Wireless data is an integral part of how we communicate in today's business world. A few years ago, it was common practice for businesses to simply install a handful of access points in their conference rooms. Now, with the rising tide of mobile devices connecting to wireless networks, IT infrastructures must satisfy a completely new set of requirements. Recently, security concerns related to new developments such as the bring-your-own-device trend have also become the target of attention.

We've designed our bintec W1003/2003 series access points specifically to meet all the diverse and unique requirements of the modern workplace. Powerful, scalable, and secure — we have the custom solution that's right for your business.

bintec w2004n

The bintec W2004n is an 11n access point with two radio modules, allowing the device to operate in both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands simultaneously. The unit is ideal for indoor wireless infrastructures that provide access over both frequencies. Smartphones, tablets, and older notebooks can connect to the 2.4 GHz network while high-performance notebooks connect to the 5 GHz network. The mimo 3x3 technology maximizes data transmission rates and uses beamforming to enhance coverage for clients on the edge of the network’s range. Beamforming is the targeted electronic focusing of the antenna on an individual client.

  • Dual-radio for simultaneous operation on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands
  • Raw data rate of 450 Mbps (802.11n mimo 3x3)
  • Stand-alone operation or managed by a WLAN Controller
  • 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports with PoE (Power over Ethernet)
  • Elegant, distraction-free industrial design for wall- and ceiling-mounting
  • Integrated high-performance mimo antenna array for 2.4 and 5 GHz

Standalone access points

The bintec W1003n/W2003/W2003-ext and bintec W2004 can serve as a stand-alone access point or be managed from a central bintec WLAN Controller.

The bintec W1003n/W2003/W2003-ext and bintec W2004 can also function as a WLAN Controller (master access point) itself to manage up to six APs.

Green-IT powered by bintec

The acess points bintec W1003n, W2003n, W2003-ext and W2004n access points save energy automatically. If no client is connected, these APs turn off any circuits not currently in use, downshifting to mimo 1x1. The Gigabit Ethernet ports support the energy-saving 802.3az standard, ensuring only as much energy as needed is used.

Approved for use in medical environments

The bintec W1003n, W2003n, W2003-ext and W2004n access points are approved for use in medical environments in accordance with EN60601-1-2.
