Teldat Fax Media Gateways and serVonic’s Fax Server/UM Software IXI-UMS

A server-based e-mail system nowadays is standard at companies. The messaging server offers an ideal platform to integrate additional communication services such as Fax, Voice or SMS into this architecture. With serVonic’s unified messaging server solution IXI-UMS, users cannot only access the e-mails in their inbox, but also administer faxes, SMS or voice mails there and send and receive all sorts of messages from their workstation.

IXI-UMS is seamlessly integrated into mail server systems and can be deployed as pure fax server or as a complete unified messaging system. For the outbound communication, IXI-UMS can use conventional ISDN-boards based on the CAPI-interface. With the bintec RT Fax Media Gateways from Teldat, also external devices are available for the ISDN-connection, which provide a simple and direct conversion of the ISDN-performance by means of the so-called “Remote CAPI“ ISDN-interface via the LAN. The “Remote CAPI“ can be installed without any problems from the simple Microsoft Windows Client to virtualized high-end servers.

As a result, the cooperation of IXI-UMS and the bintec Media Gateways is perfectly suitable especially for the operation with virtual servers and offers full ISDN-features support with little requirements regarding LAN/WAN QoS (Quality of Service). The Media Gateways from Teldat and serVonic’s IXI-UMS software can be adjusted to the requirements of the customers via modules and licenses and at the same time can be configured easily. If the available channels are no longer sufficient, further Media Gateways can be added and the capacity can be adjusted during the operation – without interruption at the IXI-UMS system.

Because of the redundant design of the bintec hardware as well as the IXI-UMS software, also high demands on security and high availability can be fulfilled.
