New Challenges
Right from the design or planning stage of a WiFi infrastructure every system integrator is asking himself the same question: How many access points will be needed for this scenario? Due to the fact that this question cannot be answered easily, Teldat offers a WiFi site survey as a service. A site survey is used to define the quantity and the location of the access points so that the desired coverage will be achieved and the required application is working without any interference (e.g. Voice over WiFi or mobile data gathering).
In small WiFi networks where a consistently WiFi coverage is not required it is possible to place the access points as you please without doing a site survey. WiFi networks which need to have a consistently coverage, e.g. VoWiFi or wireless scanner, it is mandatory to do a site survey. Wrongly or not well planned WiFi networks have often problems. These problems often cause that roaming does not work as expected. Voice over WiFi calls can be interrupted, if the client moves around. The required quality of service for the application cannot be reached in a wrongly planned WiFi network.
